Derma – Gran Monoplano (Ant-Zen)

Label Description:

DERMA, a collaboration between riccardo bianchi and massimo magrini (also known as BAD SECTOR), embodies a sophisticated fusion of retro-futuristic electronica and poetic lyricism. originating in 1995 and revitalized in 2020, this project has become a distinctive voice in the italian synthwave scene.

their musical approach combines analog loops, diverse vocal inserts, and synthetic arrangements, blending ’70s and ’80s synth-electro aesthetics with modern production techniques. this unique amalgamation results in a raw yet refined auditory experience, where abrasive electronic textures intertwine with complex vocal arrangements.

DERMA’s lyrics, delivered in italian through singing and declamation, explore introspective decadence and everyday science fiction. drawing inspiration from krautrock, ebm, and cold wave, their music creates a nostalgic yet forward-thinking soundscape that appeals to both retro enthusiasts and contemporary audiences seeking a darker, more cerebral dance music experience.

their compositions serve as sonic time capsules, echoing the past while envisioning the future, with sharp, icy melodies set to danceable rhythms.

a0001309809_10

Label Description: Body Musick welcomes Disco Morato & Velax on the release number 41 with 4 tracker ‘The Product Is You’. The concept in their words: Near future, people used AI to replace real sex and human interaction in the real world (they succeeded). There are simulacra of truth all around, everyone is «happy» to be consumer, consumption of sexual content is at its peak. In moments of «sobriety» people experience incredible emptiness and detachment from the real world, only being connected to the sex network and their toys do they feel happy. All is the product and the product is you.

a2634997080_10

Label Description:

After getting a record deal with the Belgian Antler Subway, and started producing their first EP, originally meant as EBM. But since they were in the middle of proceeding, they took the chance to incorporate some of those influences in their first record, ‘Force D’Inquisition’, in 1990, which became one of the earliest Dutch house records.

Track A2 is the legendary ‘Apocalypse’, which was quite a hit at the time both in the EBM and acid scene, with gentlemen like Frankie Knuckles playing it in his sets.
Arno Peeters was later part of Random XS and Urban Electro and worked solo as Spasms on Djax-Up-Beats.
